Our goal is to provide free access to high-quality news that fosters civic engagement, increases accountability, and uplifts our communities.
We’re launching a nonprofit that operates community newsrooms, invests in shared accountability reporting by LAist and CalMatters, and fosters collaboration among local media and university partners. Our newsrooms will add more than three dozen journalism jobs, incorporating the pioneering Boyle Heights Beat and expanding this approach across Los Angeles to increase neighborhood-level reporting citywide.
